Maginness has to go out too Brad. He's not a best 22 player and is far removed from being a player that can have the sort of impact we want from a sub. Bailey McDonald or Jai Serong should have that role this week.

I may have misheard, but on SEN earlier this week, Daniel Hoyne from Champion Data said that of all midfielders to have played 290 minutes (as a midfielder) this season, Dyan Moore was the 12th ranked midfielder. If that is correct, and given the quality of midfielders it's a remarkable stat, why is Sam so reluctant to use him as a regular midfield rotation and why couldn't Newcombe become a Jordan Dawson type who is also a dangerous forward?

With Port's small forward line, the likely conditions and the tough run of games, including two road trips, really like the idea of Barass being rested this week. Perhaps he gets rested next week with the 5 day break against Carlton?

Agree on Maginness but the coach seems to rate him and his ability to play a range of roles…what those are, I have no idea 😂. I like B-Mac but seems like he is down the pecking order. Seamus Mitchell is ahead of him.. Jai Serong’s career at the Hawks is likely over. He won’t play another AFL game for the club.

Couldn’t agree more re Moore. It’s frustrating to hear and read those stats and know he won’t be played in the midfield. What makes it worse, is he’s struggling to find form in his current role.

Re Newcombe, he is a strong mark and good overhead but he doesn’t have the height of a Dawson. He’s also our only quality midfielder with Day out, so can’t be moved from his current role. Even when Day is back, it’s going to take him time to find his feet again. It’s why Mackenzie and to a lesser extent Hustwaite not improving this season has hurt us.

Barrass would be better off missing this week as there is no match up for him. Harry McKay is back next week for the Blues and Barrass will be needed.

Yes please to Lewis. He teamed well with Calsher at BH. I really hope his terrible run of injuries has come to an end. Love Butler in the team, but think he should return via BH. If he goes well then bring him back.

Nailed the 'should', hopefully they all happen.

I’d be surprised Paul. Sam historically doesn’t like to make too many changes, even after losses. I’d be surprised if there is more than 3 this week. Interesting watch!
