Well done Brad, you remembered to include Calsher’s 7 contested marks in his stats, which is an incredible effort by him, considering that a standout VFL forward (2018) led the state league with an average of 3.4 contested marks per game. This suggests that top-performing key forwards in the VFL typically average between 2.5 to 3.5 contested marks per game. Hopefully Calsh’ doesn’t play too many more games in the VFL to match these averages…🤞🏽
Calsher was brilliant last week but I’d be surprised if he comes into the AFL side this week. Max Ramsden had his best game and shouldn’t lose his spot.
Unfortunately for Calsher, I’m not sure he’s in the best 22 this season and will only play if Gunston has a rest. Mitch Lewis will return in the next 2 week’s and will replace Ramsden.
Jack Scrimshaw is in a similar position down back.
The depth at the club this season is really strong.
Chris, Calsher was amazing last week against North - his marking was incredible, and he was moving well, covering quite a bit of ground. Regardless of how 2025 plays out for Calsher, this VFL game against, reaffirmed the long-term quality forward we've got on our hands and just what an exciting prospect he is. His mobility and ability when the ball hits the ground may make him a preferable option to Mitch Lewis.
Agree Stuart. Dears marking was outstanding on Saturday. I agree with the comments in the pod that he’s ready.
I’m also not sure about the assumption that Lewis is automatically selected over dear. Love Lewis but he’s missed a lot of footy and Dears aerial work - which is largely what we’ve been missing this year - is absolutely elite.
Hard to see them both fitting in the side. All I know is that Brad is gonna be earning his money with selection dissection in a months time if all are fit. Great problems to have
Thanks Rohan! Sam spoke this morning and said he’s experiencing soreness in the leg he broke and will miss 1-2 week’s of action. Unfortunate timing for him with Worpel expected to return.

Can't see Gunston flying to Perth the following week. Rest time

Imagine having 3 fit and healthy tall key forwards to choose from every week…🙌🏽
