Let me offer a personal testimony and touching story of a personal encounter with Will Day and family. I along with my 2 grown up children, were incredibly fortunate to have been granted rooms access post Dockers game. My daughter was overcome with tears of joy, hardly composing herself, when given the opportunity to meet Will in person. As her favourite player, and her donning the no. 12 guernsey, she asked him to sign the back of it. But, no Sharpie in sight. So, Mr Day went about the room searching for said Sharpie. Will waited patiently. Some moments later, he returns with Sharpie in hand. Will signs back of guernsey and happily poses for photos. Mrs Day who looked on, was lovely and kind and watching everything unfold. We all have a lifelong and treasured memory of an experience of a lifetime. What added layers was the kindness and humility of the Days. Footy aside, it is so fantastic that such high quality and wonderful people are associated with the footy club. With individuals like Will (and his family) the club is in great hands, and no matter what, we will always love and support the footy club and all the people connected to it. Thank you HFC and specifically, Rob McCartney, for allowing us to have this remarkable experience. 🤎💛🤎🤎
