Good pod especially the comprehensive player dissections. I miss that from last year. will be important next year I think to focus on that not just the feel good.
I had a very different match day experience. GA top tier GSS. Had no idea about day or scrimshaw and just enjoyed the performance knowing we could not possibly lose. (You can give up leads against good teams not the spooners). Watson is box office love him to bits.
I think we continue to underestimate Sam Frost. His game was extremely solid. He took a plethora of intercept marks and great spoils especially in first and third quarters. Also was great as a link player in back half and hardly any Frost Ball
Liking your discussion today, agree with your best on comments, feel Cam McKenzie deserved recognition after Will Day went off .. and what’s going on with Ginny, seems flat or punishing himself when his work rate is top notch. Frost had his work cut out for him and played well while under siege.. does Sicily need a break, should it be this week and give Seamus a run ?
Agree with all of the comments guys and my crew also had that negative feeling after Day's injury that almost robbed us of the enjoying all of the good and great moments.
Just a word about Ginny-yes he did not have his best day but the amount of running he does to get a handball or to create an option often is lost in the overall context of a game.
I don't know if others noticed this but during the final quarter, Ginny made two runs at different times to be a free player option to forward attacks and was ignored both times. The second time you could tell by his facial expression that he wasn't happy. To add insult to this, not long after the second ignored lead, he got a set shot on goal and missed. He had his hands on his knees looking at the ground shaking his head. This guy bleeds for the club and I for one can't wait to watch him every time he plays and waxing with the Wizz gives us a massive advantage over the other clubs. We are so lucky to have two small forwards with that 'X" factor!
