The Hawks have always been the bridesmaids in their most recent attempts to bring in talent e.g. Tanner Bruhn, Jack Bowes + pick 6, Harry McKay and Lachie Shultz. Until we can pitch to potential players the Hawks are a future top 8 side, we'll be trading places in the bottom 6 for years to come. Quality KPP are missing across all lines and this is killing us when competing in the air.

The unfortunate news of Butler's injury now opens a midseason pick for which the recruiting department needs to nail. A hybrid tallish forward is on my wishlist. Hutchinson sounds like a likely prospect. North will probably beat us to the punch with pick 1 😕

I was at the game yesterday and I'm normally a calm and patient supporter, but lost my shit for the first time, leaving before 3/4 time. I know AFL is not for the faint hearted and admire any player out there trying to wear their heart on their sleeve. The boys are young and I wonder if Mitchell's gameplan is information overload? I rate Mitchell highly and injuries are inhibiting his structured gameplan. The very young list available is struggling to compete against the more established lists. Recruitment over the next 2 offseasons will make or break our success for the next decade!

Great post game analysis

So much of the woes could be attributed to confidence and trust

Swans were quick and decisive. A player presents, and is rewarded. Hawks rarely did that and the opportunities disappeared.

If a swans player makes a mistake, there is zero dwelling, they just move on and re-engage. Our players will throw their arms or heads back and then the play has moved beyond them.

Coached need to get to work

I have just listened to recent podcast and was terribly disappointed.

Making Finn the whipping boy is really disappointing. He was not the reason we lost by 22 goals. I thought Hawks insiders would provide a balanced view. HI have your favourites which is evident. You guys are no different to the main media. Going on and off players frequently, eg Nash, Worpel, Frost etc etc. Your opinions change with the weather.

Using the excuse that Sydney are a good side and we should accept a 12 goal loss is not right. Last year we beat the Grand Finalists with a less experienced team.

I was hoping for a well balanced analysis.

No pressure then Roughie…..we are not getting a-graders via FA - we need b- graders front load the deal and hopefully in 2 years time an a-grader wants us and or the young KPPs make the grade. We are finals bound in 2028 at best and our premiership each decade streak is looking like ending.

The Swans are currently the best team in the land and against their defence our forward line was overwhelmed.
