Successful AFL Teams have at least 2 tall forwards who can mark or lead. Leave Ramsden in the Team so he improves. Lewis should return via Box Hill until his form returns. Me thinks - Gunston should retire ahead of the Mid Season draft to create a list spot “if” there are players of interest within our draft range. Hawks need a psychologist to get them ready for the first bounce as we appear to be fit enough to run out games. The Hawks haven’t beaten GCS at their home since 2017 so I think a miracle is required to win. I am looking forward to Meek’s next few games which should inform the best person for or game plan. Based on the last 2 games, I have Meek in front. Finally, “Well done Dimma” who proved the doubters wrong. I thought we were a chance to win with you up forward and I haven’t been that optimistic with the ball going forward in a long while. Seamus Mitchell needs games if he is to take your defensive place.

💯 to all that.

I'm not sure about fitness... That's the other thing that worries me... Given the soft tissue injuries (which I can stomach) I would have expected our fitness levels to be better... We look way down on fitness even compared to last year and I suspect this is driving some of the lack of form...

I reckon they are fit. Their run and gun game plan would be great if they could hit targets. Chol amber’s along which I think is by choice, for me he is lazy. Breust has never been quick and looks really slow this year. When they get caught with the ball I think it is because of lack of awareness and taking too much on rather than fitness.

Don't know... Against the bombers, they were all hunched over struggling in the 3rd quarter when the numbers were still running hard... And they always seem to be out numbered at reach and every contest

It got hotter as the day went on & given it was the first real match of the season it is not uncommon to be fatigued (cramping), (I am giving them the benefit of doubt). Being outnumbered for me is game plan, not being able to read the ball, a bit of laziness expecting a mate to do the work or shit coaching. Maybe it is all of that :(

For me I loved the last 3 quarters. What I liked was we started to take the game on and apply pressure to Collingwood. There were very few passengers for me and particularly loved the performances of Meek, Ramma, Ginni, Hardwick and Amon. If we can play like we did the last 3 quarters more often the wins will come.

Yes except Collingwood - whisper it - are shit. Biggest hangover since 2009 coming and youll see a massive list clear out over summer.

Meek did give an excellent contest and was a valuable contributor. Have to agree with the comments regarding a comparison the Bem McEvoy. Have we underestimated Bens's contribution with marks around the ground and whilst floating across HB?

Big boy was enormous with his leadership and making ability.. his tap work was not great, especially given he was a tad undersized for today's ruckmen

Has meek ever had a run as #1? Seems he shared with reeves last year until reeves got the nod as #1.
