Went to bed around 1.45am my time with the half time score in mind and woke Monday morning to this absolute drubbing.
Cats had the best team they have fielded all year in on Saturday with a ton of experience and Cameron is probably top 3 in the comp. He was in full flight. Very hard to stop.
Hawks made them look mediocre for patches of first half but could not maintain it. Not uncommon for younger teams but they really looked very ordinary and just unable to stem the avalanche in H2.
Some of this was the Cats getting it together and some was Scott figuring the Hawks out but there is also a mental self-belief aspect which the older guys need to take the lead on and snap the kids out of panic mode when the ball is running the other way.
Some good performances at BH. Bring on Long and Butler. Give Grainger Barrass a crack.
It was bad and we were crushed on I50s but the Hawks were in front for a lot of the game and yet again the midfield mostly held up - so there is something there.
Are the boys taking sleeping tablets at half time? Essendon match all over again….. No energy from the boys from the moment they walked out after half time (surely that is addressable)! Embarrassing losses with MASSIVE fade outs straight after half time is NOT OK even with a rebuild underway. Thank GOD we have Box Hill to watch in 2023.
