Great write up Mora 👏🏼

I'm just so sad for Frosty .... he has worked tirelessly to become influential in the team and it's so unfair.

Shocking bad luck for Frost. Your observation it could be his last game is brutal but could well be correct. There’s only one position for him and presumably Battle/Barass get that spot in a theoretical best 22 in 2025.

I thought Phillips was pretty good when he played Port during the season with no Sicily. I would play him for minimal disruption to the system that’s working as much as Serong screamingly deserves a go. Interesting Matthew Lloyd agree Serong should play on the basis the undersized Hawks accounted for the 3 big Bulldogs bringing the ball to ground then running it out. However Frost was key in that??

Well said, Frosty has been amazing in 2024! Footy is a cruel game.

We handled the Bulldogs tall forwards BECAUSE we had Frost. There's no saying how we'd have gone without him. Serong should get a chance on the basis of his form, but structurally I think we need a big guy down there.

We handled the Bulldogs talls because we kept them to 39 inside 50s. Will be the same this week: ultimately who we choose to replace Frost with won't matter if we get smashed in midfield

Horrible luck for Sam

He deserved a spot in the GF team

I think it is less about match ups and more about who can fit into the zonal structures. I think Serong gives us more options too - he can fit into multiple spots back there if we need to change to adapt to someone going hot. Philips seems more 1-D.

Such bad luck for Frosty he has been great this season . He’s my fav as he wears number 8 and whoever wears 8 is always my favourite which is why Xavier Ellis’ guernsey (2008) is hanging with my Hawks posters etc.

ps and Frosty has a Schnauzer as have I !

Great summary Mora. Personally I just want to bring in a good player. I think its between Frenchie or Serong given their form at Box Hill. Sicily and Scrimma did a great deal of intercept marking and think that Weddle or Serong can be support to them. But then if we are thinking along the lines of strengthening the midfield to prevent the supply to their forward line line then Frenchie coming in makes total sense. Whichever way if we can bring the same intensity that we brought from Q2 onwards against the dogs Port will have to play amazing to beat us and they looked all over the shop last week. Geelong almost played alot like us against Port so that gives me alot of confidence going into Friday.
