Perhaps our performances this year are more about Psychology than ability? The finals loss to Port was supposed to motivate but appears to be the opposite. The boys train hard so skill errors has to be a mindset.

Sam suggested we will be a different team next week for our 100 Year Celebration & I hope he is right. Will be Weddle’s 50th game with Gunners needing 2 goals for 500 career goals. Reckon it will be a huge crowd so no excuses……. I think we will all learn a lot about the 2025 Hawks from the performance.

I’m not convinced it’s that deep Michelle, but if it continues throughout the year, we can come back to this comment and give you the pat on the back you will deserve.

Let’s hope for some crisp skills this weekend to remove any doubts! Thanks for your support!

I'll take the win but wasn't happy with it.

Our skills seems like they've gone missing in a few games this year for whatever reason.

We only play this side once and percentage will be extremely important at seasons end.

I think we missed an opportunity for a huge boost to our %

Nevertheless we won so we've got to be happy with that.

Bring on Richmond in what will be our centenary match.

Great pod as usual guys 🤎💛

Enough wins and percentage isn’t an issue, that’s how I always look at it.

I wouldn’t want to be relying on percentage. Thanks for your support Jason 💪🏻

Percentage isn't important until it is (as is car insurance).

Looking at the 2024 ladder, percentage was important for 3rd & 4th - GWS would've probably preferred to play Port (Cats) than the Swans in Week 1 - and although a little less so for 6th & 7th (us), given we played another Victorian side at the MCG.

On the Barrass situation, both Riewoldt and Cornes had no problem with it.

On trend setters last night they actually said it was McQualter that should be embarrassed by his comments

I didn’t have a major problem with it, I think it was probably a matchup issue. Situationally it might have looked bad because of who Barrass was at WCE but I don’t think it’s the end of the world by any means.

Danny, loved it when you referred to Jack Gunston as "the Coleman medalist" lol ... can you imagine if this was to happen, it would be a win win for not only the Hawks, but also for "the senior age group" in the footy sense for sure!!

And also loved the fact that it was said at the end of the podcast that the HI team enjoy meeting the HI followers in person, so hopefully one day I will get that opportunity.

Can't wait to watch Sunday's game especially with the 100year Century celebrations, as being in the let's just say "more mature age demographic", I will enjoy seeing a lot more players of the past decades than some younger Hawks fans ... and as a further bonus, I like Kate Ceberano's music too ... GO HAWKS!!!

Not surprised at a bit of a lackluster performance, the Geelong game was at full intensity and generally the cats loose after playing the Hawks, which they duly did again, more or less happy to win by 50 points which sounds ridiculous given we were 1-6 this time last year.

I'd love to know what was said or done to Ginni for him to lash out with his foot, I saw it at the time being at that end of the ground and thought what the hell happened there.

Barrass seemed to be limping in the last, like he had a knock to the thigh or something.

Just listened to the podcast and I think you guys are overestimating where we are atm…. Sounded like an assumption we’d beat Richmond and even Melbourne. Make no mistake, if we play like we did against West Coast we will probably lose both of them. Remember, you all thought the Port game was in the bag, and we got pumped! I know the finals aren’t in April, but just as well because our game is nowhere near where it needs to be. The effort is there, but not our game yet.

There was no assumption of just rocking up and winning, of course the team will need to perform to get the win. If they play like they did against Geelong, they will beat Richmond and Melbourne comfortably.

The Port Adelaide game was an aberration. Fans went in confident, as you should after wining the first four games. The Hawks just didn’t perform.

I was also disappointed in our fan base booing Harley Reid.

I cannot fathom why any supporter would want to waste there energy towards a young player finding his way in the game.

Especially if he is considered his options at the end of the the season?
