We lost it thru our inability to kick accurately at goal (some relatively regulation shots) and unforced clanger turnovers thru poor decision making and skill execution.
It was definitely a game that got away from us. Geelong were highly efficient and their pressure caused a lot of the turnovers but the old adage bad kicking is bad football rings true from this game.
Subscribing to Hawks Insiders was the best move I made -I can't get enough of Hawthorn and I am absolutely a hawthorn diehard! Born and bred in the Geelong area, everyone expected me to joint cats but when I was old enough to understand, I decided to barrack for the team on the bottom of the table and that was Hawthorn. Sometimes you make the wise decisions in life!!
Hawk Insiders just gives me that extra connection to the inner sanctum of the club with information that the media don't cover. I love your work, banter and look forward to every episode. Go Hawks!!!
Welcome to the HI community and I totally agree with you, it's awesome to be a part of. It's a very interactive group which I love and the HI's who have set it up are to be commended in what they've achieved so far. They are always looking for ways to be more engaged with us and are very respectful and I appreciate the fact that they are always willing to reply. GO HAWKS!!!
Darren's observation that many of the clangers occurred when they tried to take the game was spot on. Our Hawks are a victim of their own progression in that we're so disappointed by their disposal. Too much Tuah and not enough Hok but hopefully we should put it all together next Sunday against the Tigers.
Danny and Darren, I particularly liked your discussion about Jai Newcombe and how he has worked so hard to develop into such a great player for our Club and the fact that he has stayed humble and will never forget where he has come from.
This is NOT a story "about me", but an insight from personal experience, that I had the absolute pleasure of sitting next to Jai at the Hall of Fame Dinner around this time last year (a complete surprise to me that my daughter had contacted the Club to arrange this for an early 60th birthday gift). I want to share with the HI community that Jai was the nicest young man who was very polite, respectful, genuine and open in his ability to converse with us about both his professional and personal life which I thought was so generous and something I will never forget.
Also, after listening to the likes of Josh Ward and Cam Mackenzie being interviewed, it's reassuring that the Club have not only chosen these young men for their football ability, but also their personal attributes to be a part of this great "Family Club".
I totally understand if this is not the right place and I want to be respectful to our HI's leaders, but would love to hear if anyone else has any stories to share ... GO HAWKS!!!

Both are fixable matters.
So sad to see all the Chol bashers out with force at halftime.
So frustrating some of our supporters
Drives me nuts.

Thanks so much for your support mate, we greatly appreciate it. Phenomenal decision to choose to support the Hawks btw 👏🏻
