Hi there ... what an enjoyable podcast, especially the part when reminiscing about former players of this great Club!!! As a proud Tasmanian that was born and bred in Devonport, I was more than happy with Nat including my local player Grant Birchall in his 321 selections and just wanted to mention another player to have played for Hawthorn was No. 20 Jade Rawlings who also came from Devonport like Birch ... Further, whilst they did not play for Hawthorn other former AFL players to have come from this area are Matthew Richardson, Graham Wright, Matthew and Steven Febey and Brady Rawlings to name a few .... Peter Knights also coached the Devonport Football Club. This begs the question and probably a mammoth task, but one I'm sure that Mick Cowan would be well suited to do, is to work out which area have the most AFL players come from?
Also, a simple request please to you Andrew Weiss and your fellow HI panel, as surely it must be time for Ethan to make a return to the HI podcast for a guest spot??
So happy that it's now February and the footy is back ... Go Hawks!!!
Glad Mick referenced his namesake (and mine) - Mick Moncrieff is so underrated and the first name that cam to my mind re FFs. I was just becoming sentient from a footy pov when we rolled into 76 and he was the KPP we needed. Having said that my earliest foot memory is seeing huddo kick about 7 at windy hill in 78 I think.
The intro with Jarman and Punky etc saying “hi, go Hawks” sounds so drab and downbeat. How about a punchy energetic into that creates feeling and fervour! GO HAWKS💪💪💪
