Duursma is a handy player but would be only a borderline selection in our team, Burton is in his prime and but for the Port Adelaide injuries would not be in their team this week. Joyce never played a game and Jaxon Prior is essentially a backup player at Brisbane. They were the players acquired with the draft picks we gave up for Chad. No question we really overpaid, but it's quite an overstatement to say that trade sent us backwards.

Great to hear Julia on the space. Thanks!

The "free hit" stuff is nonsense. You may never get back into the post season. You can get injured or the team goes backwards. Once you are there you play for keeps. Have too. Getting a pat on the back from Damo or Kane is not what you play for.

Regarding Box Hill - it's always about execution isn't it? There were a couple of very costly mistakes early in Q3. However, you don't win the toss and gift your opponent a lead at the first break. Putting yourself under score board pressure is about the dumbest move you can make.

The trade "what if" game is interesting. There's always uncertainty and Wingard was cruelled by injury but we gave up too much for him. BTW Burton has played over 100 games for Port and he played less than 50 so we never saw the best of him.

We should beat the Dogs. They are good but if we play our game and don't give ourselves the easy "free hit" out we are better.

100% agree with Ash, the trade capital for Wingard was rubbish and sent us backwards! Having said that, thanks for choosing the Hawks Chad and wishing you all the best for your future.

The “only” team I didn’t want the Hawks to play is the Bulldogs. No Day & MacKenzie is a concern. Whilst I don’t want to get wet sitting in the crowd, I also feel rain will favour the Mozzie Fleet over the Big 3 Bullies. Got to win the centre and play more of the game in our forward half. Hoping the Bullies are inaccurate in the front half. I like your idea of Weddle spending more time in the middle to cover the outs.
