Fantastic review Ash, many thanks. Sounds like Norwood Oval at the 2024 Gather Round is the place we've got to be. Totally agree with your comments on Denver - still a work in progress and there will be ups and downs, especially when opposed to seasoned key forwards as on Sunday, but we have to stick with him. Also really like the suggested move of CJ to the wing - with his speed and endurance, he could be a real weapon in that position and offer far more than Harry. Great stuff.

Very good summary boys.

Frost may be a terrific person off the field but how he is in our leadership group defies me. His lack of poise in the final quarter was terrible for a “leader”. The future is not Frost. Give me a back line with Scrimshaw, Blanck, DGB (who I thought played pretty well) and Hardwick....even though we need to find another bigger body...maybe Kosi could do that because he has no future up forward.

Young Seamus Mitchell and Ned Long were terrific in the heat of battle for first and second gamers...leave them in the side. Morrison is on shaky ground.

Ned Reeves played his best game thankfully. I think we need to persist with this duo...Meek will make it in my opinion and we need his big body.

You’re spot on with CJ. We all love him and want him to succeed but he’s become very fumbly and dropping marks he shouldn’t. I don’t mind the wing idea as an experiment and leave Seamus in his spot.

A disappointing result but a much better performance which gives you confidence we’re heading in the right direction.

Thanks guys appreciate the insights.

This was a good effort with many really good signs.

Long, Mitchell and DGB - were all good. Great to see them playing.

Lots of other positives. Amon, Impey, Brockman, Green, Jai, Worpel etc. Most had a real crack.

Nash was terrific and credit where its due but not convinced he is best 22

Some talent at BH. Lynch is demanding to play. Ramsden is shaping well - probably still too soon but he is coming.

Not convinced on Reek. Unpopular opinion since I know that Ash thinks Reeves is Max Gawn reborn but I don't see it. Not mobile enough and struggles around the ground. Let's see Leek not Reek.

Agree on Jiath...but not the wing...Box Hill. Needs to learn how to defend and what to do/where to be when we don't have the ball.

Frost...why are we playing him? He isn't teaching the younger guys or at least I hope they are ignoring his "lessons" He plays like a guy who's in his second season. I don't love Blanck but anyone would be better. Put Kozy back there. At least these guys have a future - either with the Hawks or as trades.

Adelaide are a good team and we will struggle this week and the Bulldogs the week after will be a challenge but I am looking forward to the Dockers in Round 8.

Great review Ash. You are making us all want to go to Norwood Oval for the next 3 years for an interstate “Family Day”. I would rather see CJ at Box Hill for a month than on the Wing, he must learn to read the play and better connect. The fumbled mark in the last line of defence that lead to a point summed up the first 5 games. Long and Mitchell deserve their 5 weeks of AFL footy to see what they can produce. Gotta leave DGL & Brockman in for a month for the same reasons and Day & Scrimshaw will always be in the team if available. Someone has to make way. To the disappointment of most Hawthorn fans, I don't think Morrison troubles the opposition. Still looking forward to Weddle’s debut which might sort out the running defender spot. #GoHawks
