This is how Cam Mackenzie has described Hawthorn’s 61-point win against the Eagles.

Speaking to HI’s Andrew Weiss in the rooms after the victory, Mackenzie reflected on a strange match in which the Hawks asserted their dominance early, but couldn’t apply scoreboard pressure.

“We were just a bit overexcited,” he said.
