Last year, whilst sitting in level 4 of the MCG as we belted Carlton in Round 22, I had the inspiration to write the following piece on our lightning, fast paced and effective ball movement.

I’ll get onto some numbers shortly, but our ability to move the ball from D50 to I50 effectively last year was at times exhilarating and was no doubt a factor in the run we went on. Our ability to make the ground as big as any team was elite, and left opposition sides struggling to counter.

This year, despite us still sitting in the top 4 after 7 games with a 5-2 record, it would be a fair shout to say that we haven't hit the same heights with ball in hand as we did in the last two-thirds of 2024.
