The Hawthorn Football Club is facing a dilemma of sorts. Father/Son prospect Will McCabe’s draft stock is rising at a rate of knots that may have a detrimental effect on Hawthorn’s draft hand.
Will, the son of former player and current Football Director Luke McCabe, is a very different player to his father.
While Luke was a dour and tidy back pocket player, drafted by the Hawks with Pick 15 in the 1993 National Draft, Will is an eye-catching 197cm utility who has displayed a number of draftable traits throughout his performances in the late 2022 and early 2023 seasons.
