I really want to be that positive person and have some faith in the boys, but they really are up against it in this week's game (sorry to say ... but more than happy if I get that wrong). With injury, soreness, travel factor, the purple army home crowd and Freo playing very good football, it's going to take a mighty team effort and perhaps some luck along the way to get the win (and of course, the goal accuracy factor will need to show a much-needed improvement).

I'm also a bit concerned about Newc who is clearly playing with a sore knee given he has worn strapping on it all year and the amount of ice he had on it after last week's game. I wonder if Sammy is considering managing him at all as he is our most important player in my opinion.

Thanks as always Brad for your weekly SD and I must admit, I did have a little giggle at your comment regarding the Noodle and Mora photo comment lol !!!

GO HAWKS!!!

I think you're a bit harsh on Scrimshaw Brad, he was in our best few players one week earlier against Gold Coast. Freo does have three tall forwards - Amiss, Voss and Treacy - and on occasions, Cox as well, so there is room for Scrimshaw. Very excited to see Bodie Ryan. Do you think there's any chance that we go in with Meek, Reeves and Ramsden?

Scrimshaw dropped, so the coach agrees. There’s also no VFL this week, so he won’t be back for a few weeks at the earliest. Ramsden will play as a forward. Hopefully bash and crash like Chol. Last week showed how much we miss Chol when he doesn’t play.

Frustrating that they don't use Magginess to close down the oppo's most effective midfielder. That's his one-wood; his most effective weapon.

I’m with you Wayne. The Dockers also have an elite half back in Jordan Clark, who would be worth playing a defensive role on..

⏩ to 11pm tomorrow night and you just know Clark will have 30 touches and Serong will have 30 and a goal.

I agree- if you are going to have Maginness in the side why not use his strengths when playing against top midfielders? Brad do you or HI have any ideas why Sam doesn't use him this way?

Apologies to HI if this is not the right forum, but it's very disappointing that our website has not acknowledged the passing of Geoff Ablett. Geoff played over 200 games, is a dual premiership player and together with Rodney Eade, formed a formidable wing partnership. Geoff was known as Racehorse, was a very exciting player and a real fan favorite. It's been great to hear the positive commentary from Ash on the diverse composition of our crowds and how this can, in large part, be attributed to our media department. The work they do to attract and generate interest across various media is valuable and impressive, but in failing to recognise the passing of Geoff Ablett, they've missed the mark. I guess I'm just showing my 62 years of age. Again, apologies if this is not the right forum for this comment.

Stuart, I too, (showing my age of 61) think your comment is valid and has been said in a very respectful way and I hope that our "safe space policy" on here will prevail. But to be perfectly honest, I can't believe that the Club have not acknowledged the passing of Geoff as usually they are very good in this aspect with anyone associated with the Club. It will be interesting to see if the boys wear black armbands in tonight's game and whether the TV networks make mention of his passing ... RIP Geoff Ablett

Stuart, about half an hour ago the Club have now put up an acknowledgement of Life Member Geoff Ablett's passing ...
