Seamus Mitchell is proof that working incredibly hard, surrounding yourself with with good people and rediscovering your inner self belief can help turnaround a AFL career.

Mitchell, like the majority of the 2020 draft class, spent his draft year in and out of lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Having played five games for the Bendigo Pioneers as an underage player the year previous, Mitchell was primed for a breakout year in 2020, that was until the entire NAB League season was cancelled. For Mitchell, that stroke of bad luck was a sign of things to come.
