CJ - IMO, HFC should NOT offer a new contract until year’s end. If nothing improves, give him 12 months only. Hopefully he gets a full 2025 without injury and then look towards the future.
Midfield - Don’t change something that works. Hustwaite and Ward need to keep working hard at Box Hill to justify pushing someone out.
Watson - Would like to see him in a few more Box Hill games before returning. The experience wont hurt either Watson or HFC.
Agree - Mids need to kick goals. Let’s hope each of them can get there as we finish off 2024.
Don’t risk Meek, just resign him HFC. Loving what he has brought to the team since his return.
Gunners - I agree. I think Calsher has provided a reborn Gunners. I was critical of his return as a player (not as a coach) but given the Calsher (who I LOVE) connection, I say continue this into 2025 and we now have Jasper to mentor……..
Ginni - I wrote last year on HI, when everyone was up and about for potentially bringing in Liam Henry and Ginni wasn’t on our “known” radar that “verbatim” (Dare I say this, I rather Jack Ginnivan than Liam Henry” and I totally stand by this. The energy, the memberships, the media interest and the sponsorship $ will come and hopefully another 3-4 premierships. LOVE GINNI.
I hope CJ can remain injury free to have a decent run at it so we can see what he has to offer other than speed. His teammates love him which is great but I want results. Definitely brutal.
After watching at the ground and not paying much attention to Weddle I thought he wasn’t prolific but on watching the replay the quality of his touches was very impressive. Gaining in his match awareness and choice making every game.
I was also very impressed with Massimo and thought the past few weeks his defensive efforts have been excellent, especially given the chorus of supporters of ‘them’ telling us he was no good defensively and hence they preferred Heppell!
I totally get the Weissy/Prinnsy ‘what gets us close to our next flag’ school of thought with regards to winning vs experimenting but I also think that maybe actually experiencing a final is ‘the thing’ that gets us closer. The experience of bonding to get the wins to make the eight could be worth more than any experimentation. Just a thought.
If you're like me and can't get enough Hawks content

Agree on CJ
Brutal but true...
At this stage he's a nice to have but not a must have.
If he wants to walk he might help our draft hand

A strong win
Adelaide is not as bad as you boys think...although we did them without Rankine and with Dawson less than 100%
They came to us after drawing with Lions, losing to Pies by less than a kick, destroying Port and West Coast
And we handled them with ease
2025 version of the Hawks will win this game by +10 goals
We are on our way
Awesome recap again Insiders.
