Five questions for Sam Mitchell...
Introducing a new feature. The coach has his weekly media conference on Thursday and here are the questions we at Hawks Insiders think the media should ask him.
Sam Mitchell’s weekly media conference is mandatory viewing for Hawk fans. He is candid and forthright, without giving away state secrets.
But the questions? We think the media could do a bit better, although to be fair, few if any are rusted on Hawk fans who obsess over the club like the supporters do. And we at HI have day jobs so we can’t get out to Bunjil Bagora to ask him ourselves.
So every week, we’re going to list the burning questions on the lips of Hawk fans and through social media, try to get them in front of the journalists who will get to the presser.
If you have any to add, send them through to us @hawksinsiders.
Has the club opened up negotiations with Tyler Brockman’s management in relation to a contract extension? Do both parties have an interest in a contract extension? If Brockman wanted to return home, would the club help facilitate a trade to a WA based club?
Can you explain how Liam Shiels is listed as ‘managed’ when he is also playing the same week for Box Hill. What is his role for the rest of the season?
If you had your time again, would you have had a fourth ruckman on the list? Will you be looking to add to your ruck stocks at the mid-season draft?
You said recently that James Worpel is too good to be a VFL footballer. But does he need some time at Box Hill to get some form and feel back in his game?
Will Day spent considerable time in the midfield last week. How did you rate that part of his game against Richmond and is that where you think he’ll end up playing?
excellent questions. One more....Is there a place for Kyle Hartigan in the team as we lack a big body down back?
Fantastic questions, these guys should be at the presser.
