“The first thing is everyone's got to sit down, just have a really good conversation, start having some conversations, get some dialogue going, some constructive dialogue around where we are, why certain things were said, understand the context of why people are feeling the way they're feeling, what the comments made, what the responses made were all about.”

Board Member and former captain Richard Vandenberg has explained the emotional toll that the current election has had on so many people connected to the Hawthorn Football Club.

Speaking to the Hawks Insiders as part of our AGM Files podcast series, Vandenberg was forthright when discussing the unusual situation the club finds itself in where the current administration has been challenged and a question of required change has escalated.

While Vandenberg himself is not up for re-election, he has been part of an ongoing conversation around the current Board, it’s recent performance and planned direction for the future.
